2017 Scholarship Winners

This year three members of the Class of 2017 received scholarships from the LEA at the annual dinner on Thursday, June 8. Emily Conroy won the LEAF scholarship for her essay about her plans to pursue a career in special education. Elizabeth Rodio received a LEA scholarship, she wrote her essay about the role that LHS English teacher Keith Woodman has played in her life. Kyle Beaudette also received a LEA scholarship, he wrote about how LHS English teacher Chris Rea helped him to develop a love and appreciation for literature. See pictures from the event below.

2016 Scholarship Winners!

Four members of the Class of 2016 received scholarships from the LEA at the annual dinner on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Kaitlyn Nelson won the LEAF scholarship for her essay about her plans to pursue a career in education. Julia Garvey received a LEA scholarship, she wrote her essay about the role that LHS Studies Teacher Jennifer LaValley has played in her life. Nathan Zucco also received a LEA scholarship, he wrote about Rebecca Mathisen, LHS Guidance secretary, and the support that she gave him during his junior and senior years. Max Casagranda received a LEA scholarship, although he was unable to attend the dinner, he wrote about his positive experience in LHS Science teacher Diana Sands' classroom. 2015 Scholarship Winners

At the annual LEA dinner on Monday, June 8, the Association was pleased to present scholarships to five graduating seniors. Megan Gregoire (pictured below with LEA President Brian Bylicki) received the LEAF Scholarship for her essay on why she wants to pursue a career in education.

David Annecchiarico, Rachel Forcier, Joseph Forzano, and Noelle Picard were all awarded LEA scholarships in recognition of essays they wrote about a teacher who had a profound impact on their lives. David wrote about Mr. John Lattanzio (pictured below, left to right, Mr. Lattanzio, David, and Mr. Bylicki), while Rachel, Joseph, and Noelle all wrote about their chemistry teacher, Mrs. Barbara Piela (pictured below, left to right, with Mrs. Piela in red).
